17. Backpack across Europe

By a literal definition, to backpack means traveling or hiking and only using a backpack to carry all belongings. Most people term backpacking with "roughing it." I haven't "roughed it" since the last time I went camping, that is not what I've done.

Let me explain what I have done though and how I wish to proceed with this goal. I have studied abroad in Spain which gave me the opportunity to backpack on roughly 18 different trips while I was there.

When I first arrived in Spain, I had intended to travel, but I did not at all intend to do as much as I did. All in all it may have been a little bit too much traveling, when I was supposed to be getting the "Madrid Study Abroad" experience.

I backpacked, with a backpack, which I think makes it backpacking; and so I am checking this off of my life goals. However! I do have a short list of other European countries I still have yet to reach and so as I check this one off I am writing another; I would like to travel to Portugal, Ireland, Rome, Austria, Poland, Norway, Copenhagen, Turkey and Russia. After I go to all of those places, I think I would be done exploring Europe for a while.

I have lists of other places around the world that I want to travel. Select countries in Asia and Africa, and almost all of the Central and South American countries. We'll see where that goes, but for now we will see how the next goals go.
